Ikari Shinji
The pilot of EVA-01.
Analysis:
Shinji, Gendou's son, is the pilot of EVA-01. His father's lack of attention and his mother's death left Shinji to develop a restrained and quiet character. However he is always trying to change himself. Misato, who acts as mother/sister/friend for Shinji helps him a lot in finding the right way.Shinji feels a deep hatred for his father, who neglected him in his childhood and is using him as a tool for NERV. On the other hand he feels strangely attracted to Rei although he does not know why.
